Apart from this degree, he even has a Master’s of Science in Material Science and Engineering from Stanford University.  From such a high technical background, he shifted his academic career towards management and business administration with an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He was even named as a Siebel and Palmer scholar from the same university. Pichai started his professional career in Engineering and Product management where there was a mixture of principles of  Industrial Engineering and Materials management. He worked in this position for Applied Materials Inc. McKinsey and Company was also fortunate to have him as a management consultant. Pichai joined the mega info tech platform Google in 2004 where he worked on product management and innovation for Googles client software  products such as Google Chrome, Chrome OS and even Google Drive. He monitored the development t of different applications such as G mail and Goggle Maps.  On 19th November, 2009 he gave a fascinating demonstration of Chrome OS and Chrome book which was subsequently released for trial and testing in 2011.  This particular version was released to public in 2012.  On 20th May 2010, Mr. Pichai officially released the open sourcing of the new video codec VP8 by Google and introduced the new video format WebM.
